AboutDown Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH) started as a small group meeting in the basement of Texas Children's Hospital in 1974. Since then the organization has obtained it's own facility where they are able to provide programs for the participants. Today DSAH has over 1,800 members from Houston and surrounding areas. DSAH offers many programs such as Education 4 Life and others at that take place at the Resource Center in northwest Houston. DSAH also offers more localized Community Groups, New Baby Luv Baskets, and many others.
"We envision a community in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance the quality of their life, realize their life aspirations, and become accepted as part of our very diverse society. As DSAH has grown, we have gradually developed programs for all age groups."
